BREDENT LIQUIDS SUPPORT
Ceram-Bond
Before using this product, please read and follow these instructions carefully.
1. Indication Range
Ceram Bond is a ceramic material which is used as a layer between all metals and ceramic. It compensates differences in the expansion coefficients between metal and ceramic and blocks escaping metal oxides.
2. Processing
2.1. Preparation of the object:
After finishing, sandblast the framework with aluminium oxide. Then clean thoroughly with distilled water in the ultrasonic unit for ten minutes or using the steam cleaner. Afterwards the metal surface must not be touched any more.
2.2. Applying Ceram Bond:
Use a brush for stains to apply one covering coat with a uniform layer thickness onto the metal surface.
2.3. Predrying Ceram Bond in the ceramic furnace:
Open the ceramic furnace which has been preheated to 650° C and dry the framework onto which Ceram Bond has been applied for one minute in the open furnace.
2.4. Firing Ceram Bond in the ceramic furnace:
Firing of Ceram Bond is started at 650° C and continued up to 980° C. The temperature increase rate is 55° C/minute. Firing is performed under vacuum. After completion of the firing process, the framework is immediately removed from the furnace. After firing, the framework should exhibit a beige to golden yellow color.
2.5. Opaque firing and further processing:
Apply the opaque material – according to the tooth shade – onto the fired Ceram Bond. A wash bake is not required. Then further processing is carried out according to the instructions of the manufacturer of the ceramic material.
3. Error sources and their elimination:
To ensure successful use, we recommend to test the desired alloy with Ceram Bond.
3.1. Cracks in Ceram Bond:
Ceram Bond was applied too thickly (very fine cracks are acceptable/normal)! Sandblast the material and reapply as described above.
3.2. Bubbles in Ceram Bond:
The metal must be degased. Sandblast Ceram Bond and degas the framework at 980° C under vacuum for ten minutes before Ceram Bond is applied again.
3.3. Green and/or blacks spots in Ceram Bond:
Ceram Bond was applied too thinly or the framework was wet or greasy.
3.4 Cracks in the ceramic:
If Ceram Bond reveals a rusty brown color after firing, the alloy is not suitable. Please use a different alloy.
The following alloys have proved to be unsuitable: Crutanium by Krupp Austenal, Crysatalloy by Shofu and Ticonium.
4. Safety recommendations and hazard warnings
4.1. Personal protective equipment:
When processing Ceram Bond, protective gloves, safety goggles and protective working clothes must be worn.

Chrome Cobalt Bonding Agent
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE CHROME COBALT BONDING AGENT
Before using this product, please read and follow these instructions carefully.
1. Indication Range:
Chrome Cobalt Bonding Agent (CKB) is a ceramic material. It is
used to form a layer between all metals and ceramic. It compensates for different expansion coefficients between
metal and ceramic and blocks escaping metal oxides.
2. Processing
2.1 Preparation of the object:
After finishing, blast the object with aluminum oxide.
Clean it carefully with distilled water in the ultrasonic unit or with a steam-blasting unit. After this
process, the metal surface must not be touched any more.
2.2 Mixing:
Mix the Chrome Cobalt Bonding Agent with distilled water to obtain a thin
consistency. Other mixing liquids are not suitable.
2.3 Applying the Chrome Cobalt Bonding Agent:
Use a staining brush to apply a single
covering layer of the mixed CKB onto the metal surface. A uniform, pink color should result on the
surface.
Please note: Once the CKB has dried, it must be mixed anew!
2.4 Firing on the Chrome Cobalt Bonding Agent in the ceramic furnace:
Firing of the
CKB is started at 650º C and is continued up to a temperature of 980º C. The rate is 55º C per minute. The
firing time amounts to 6 minutes. Firing is performed under vacuum. After firing, the frame must be immediately
taken out of the furnace. The frame should have a golden-yellow to beige color after firing.
2.5 Opaque firing and further processing:
A covering layer of opaque - which
corresponds to the tooth shade - is applied onto the fire Chrome Cobalt Bonding. A washbake is not required.
Then continue according to the instructions of the manufacturer of the ceramic material.
2.6 Sources of errors and how to eliminate them:
Chrome Cobalt Bonding Agent has been
used in numerous laboratories since the middle of 1992. To ensure successful application, we recommend testing
the desired alloy with CKB.
2.6.1 Cracks in the Chrome Cobalt Bonding Agent:
Too much CKB has been applied! Blast
the material and apply anew according to the instructions.
2.6.2 Bubbles in the Chrome Cobalt Bonding Agent:
Degassing of the metal is required.
Blast the material and - prior to the firing CKB anew - degas the frame under vacuum at 980º C.
2.6.3 Green and/or black stains in the Chrome Cobalt Bonding Agent:
CKB was mixed too
thinly or the frame was moist or greasy. Stains may also result if dried CKB has been mixed anew. Blast CKB,
clean the frame and then apply CKB anew.
2.6.4 Cracks in the ceramic:
If the Chrome Cobalt Bonding Agent displays a rust-like
brown color after firing, the alloy is not suitable. Please use a different alloy. Up until today the following
alloys have proved to be not suitable: Crutanium by Krupp Austenal, Crystalloy by Shofy and Ticonium. Cracks may
also result, if dried CKB has been mixed anew since it is not ensured that the different expansion coefficients
are compensated.

This Material Safety Data Sheet is provided by way of guide for the use of our product and is
correct to the best of our knowledge.
However, we can't offer any guarantee as to its accuracy or
exhaustiveness. All chemicals may present unforeseen risks and should be used with caution.

guarantee that the risks referred above are the only risks present. The final choice of the application of a
product is thus the sole responsibility of the user.
1. Pre-treating the metal coping
After trimming and finishing the coping, sandblast it. Following this, the coping should either be boiled for 10 minutes in distilled water or thoroughly steam cleaned. At this stage the coping should only be held with tweezers. The coping must be thoroughly dried before the chrome cobalt bonding agent is applied.
2. Applying the bonding agent
Mix the chrome cobalt bonding agent into a thin consistency using distilled water. Apply one masking coat of chrome cobalt bonding agent with a staining brush. While doing so, go over the metal/porcelain junctures to avoid discolorations in the border zones.
Important:Chrome cobalt bonding agent can be mixed only once. Should the mix dry out, it is no longer suitable for use.
3. Firing the chrome cobalt bonding agent
May vary according to individual furnaces.
Recommended values:
Initial Temperature: 650ºC.
Final Temperature: 980ºC in vacuum.
Rate of Temperature increase: 55ºC per minute.
Once the final temperature has been reached, remove the coping from the furnace. The coping should now have a yellow or golden yellowish appearance. At this stage, the opaque can be applied, according to the porcelain manufacturer’s instructions.
Cracks in the chrome cobalt bonding agent:
Consistency or layer too thick. Sand-blast and reapply properly.
Blisters in the chrome cobalt bonding agent:
We recommend degassing the coping before the bonding agent is fired, by heating to 980ºC in vacuum and holding for 10 minutes.
Green/Black spots:
Either the bonding agent was mixed too thinly, the coping was moist or greasy or dried out material was re-used.
Cracks in the porcelain:
Can occur if the metal coping is disproportionately small in relation to the volume of the porcelain or if the metal connectors are defective. Should a reddish-brown layer appear instead of a yellow one, then the alloy is unsuitable. Simply use another commercially available chrome cobalt alloy.
To date, only three alloys have been proven unsuitable :
Crutanium, Crystalloy and Ticonium.
Microanalysis of the porcelain content
Since 1982, many dental laboratories have successfully worked with our chrome cobalt bonding system. Despite this, we recommend testing the bond on a sprue button made from your chrome cobalt alloy. Poorly processed alloys can also lead to defects. Often alloys are overheated and burnt during casting.

Exakto-Form Resin
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE EXAKTO-FORM MODEL RESIN
Dual component model material, based on polyurethane, for fabricating extremely precise dental models. Thanks to its very low viscosity, it is easily poured into impressions without entrapping air voids. This cost-effective model resin features absolutely precise reproduction of surfaces, dimensional stability and unequaled precision of fit with no expansion whatsoever.
- Presentation
- - Exakto-form model resin is supplied in cans containing 50 g. each of components A and B.
- - 1 assortment includes 6 x 50 g. cans components A and 6 x 50 g. cans of component B.
- - Both components are also available separately.
Directions - Application I
Always follow safety precautions!
Shake the tubs well before opening. Rip the lids off both tubs. To ensure that components A and B are mixed homogeneously, they must be stirred thoroughly before using, to mix the material which has settled.
Pour the contents of the component B tub into the tub containing component A (mixing ratio 1:1). Mix the two components thoroughly within 30 seconds. Working time is 2 to 3 minutes. Separate from impression after 30 minutes; maximum final hardness is achieved after 1.5 hours.
Application I
As this is a polyurethane based, dual-component material, it is inevitable that component B will react prematurely with the mixture in the atmosphere when the can is opened. Therefore, to prevent the moisture in the atmosphere from contacting the material for too long, and consequent premature setting, component B should be used immediately!
Directions - Application II
Should you require a small amount of Exakto-Form model resin (less than 100 g), you can fill the entire contents of tubs A & B into separate syringes and extrude the desired amount into a mixing vessel in a ratio of 1:1. Mix the two components thoroughly within 30 seconds. Working time 2-3 minutes. Separate from impression after 30 minutes. Maximum final hardness attained after 1.5 hours. Please make absolutely certain that you use the remaining material in the syringes within 2 days! Shake the tubs well before opening. Rip the lids off both cans. To ensure that components A & B are mixed homogeneously, they must be stirred thoroughly before each use to mix material which may have settled.
Application II

3.Mix Exakto-Form approximately 30 seconds until a uniform color is obtained.
4.Two tins of Exakto-Form are sufficient to produce 2-3 complete dental arches.
5.The material can be removed after 30 minutes. Final hardness is achieved after 90 minutes. Then the model can be trimmed.
6.If a base for the model is to be produced with Exakto-Form, the model must first be insulated with Exakto-Form Insulating Liquid.
7.Due to its high edge stability, Exakto-form is perfectly suitable for precision-fit bridge and crown work.
8.Any technique can be used for sawing Exakto-Form models. Adopting a new technique is not required.
9.If smaller quantities are used, fill component A and B into separate syringes.
10.Pour equal quantities of Exakto-Form into a silicone beaker (approximately 2 ml for one die) and mix to obtain a homogeneous material. Please note, material in syringes must be used within 5 days.
11.Pour Exakto-Form into the impression. The excellent flow properties prevent the formation of bubbles even in impressions with thin edges.
12.The hardened resin can be drilled and trimmed. The stability avoids dimensional changes and guarantees precise models.

Data sheet completed by: Research & Development Dept. - Bredent (Germany).
This Material Safety Data Sheet is provided by way of guide for the use of our product and is
correct to the best of our knowledge.
However, we can't offer any guarantee as to its accuracy or
exhaustiveness. All chemicals may present unforeseen risks and should be used with caution.
We cannot guarantee that the risks referred above are the only risks present. The final choice of the application of a
product is thus the sole responsibility of the user.
Without the hardening agent, models can be damaged when the restoration is placed on the model.
The special consistency leads to the diffusion into the plaster surface. The high edge stability and scratch resistance prevents most surface damage.
The gloss and hardening agent for plaster hardens after only 2 minutes.
Gloss and hardening agent for plaster diffuses into the plaster so that it can also be used on margins.
Isoplast Liquid
The brush pen allows application of the material in an economic and precise way.
Isoplast seals the surface and the plaster exhibits fine luster. This way the quality of the insulating layer can be checked.
Isoplast allows removal of the tray without damaging the model.
Light-curing Die Spacers
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE DIE SPACER UV
Before using this product, please read and follow these instructions carefully.
1. Indication Range:
The die spacer light curing is a one-component liquid. This die spacer features a high abrasion resistance and therefore withstands high mechanical stress. This way the model die is protected against damage when fitting crowns and bridges.
2. Processing
2.1 Note
To create a cement gap, the die spacer must be polymerized immediately after the application. To harden preparation margins, apply a thin layer of die spacer; remove the excess die spacer with a paper towel before polymerization is started. The application of a thin layer will be sufficient to harden the surface of the die.
The light-curing die spacer allows the individual application of layers and - even on rough undersurfaces - forms a glass-like surface which is resistant to steam-jet blasting and can not be removed from the plaster die.
2.2 Preparation of the object
After the fabrication of the saw-cut model and the plaster dies, clean them with compressed air to obtain a dust-free surface. Then apply the desired layer thickness of die spacer light-curing. Please note: Plaster dies do not require pretreatment with die hardening and insulating agent.
2.3 Processing
Please note: Bottle must be sealed immediately after use.
Drip die spacer light-curing directly from the bottle onto a mixing block and then apply an evenly thin (approx. 10 ) layer of die spacer onto the model die (see item 2.5 Polymerization) using a disposable brush. If die spacer is applied too richly, it may run off and result in insufficient hardening
2.4 Layer thickness
The layer thickness can be adjusted by the repeated application of the spacer and by an intermediate polymerization process of the individual layers. Do not touch the spacer surface between the individual layers. Uneven application of layers must be corrected by applying a further layer so that the color becomes more intense and the layer thickness can be checked. After polymerizing, work can be immediately continued on the spacered die.
2.5 Polymerization
Please note: During light curing (polymerization) it must be ensured that the spacered surface is as close to the light outlet of the polymerization unit as possible. Dark spots must be avoided. Depending on the respective polymerization unit, the wetted surface must be cured as follows:
Polymerization times:
DentaColor Approx. 90 - 180 sec.
Bredent Polylux Approx. 180 - 240 sec.
Schütz PLC 5000 Approx. 180 - 240 sec.
3. Safety Recommendations and Hazard Warnings
3.1 Safety clothing
Die spacer light curing must be processed at a working place that is well ventilated. Open fire and smoking must be avoided. Do not inhale the vapors.
3.3 For safe handling of the die spacer light curing, please refer to the material safety data sheet.
3.4 In case of contact with the skin, mucous membrane or the eyes, rinse off the material with lots of water and seek medical attention.
If - after inhaling - complaints such as dizziness and nausea occur, seek medical attention immediately. In any case, please take the bottle and the material safety data sheet with you.
While processing this die spacer, please keep food away from the working place.
4. Storage and Durability
4.1 Die spacer light curing must be stored at room temperature under dry conditions and protected against light.
4.2 If the bottle is sealed well and stored properly, the product has a shelf life of three years.
4.3 Proper disposal: please adhere to the information provided in the material safety data sheet.
5. Other Information
This information contained in these instructions for use is always updated according to the latest knowledge and experience.
Therefore, we recommend that you read these instructions again before using a new package.
INFORMATION REGARDING THE LIGHT STRENGTH OF THE DENTAL LIGHT CURING MACHINES
The wattage of the light bulb has no influence on the light curing process.
What is important is the wave-length of the radiation. In the dental market there are two different light types in use:
1) UV-A waves
2) UV-B waves
Some manufacturers of light curing tray materials use light bulbs which only send out UV-B waves. The reason is simple: the UV-B bulbs are cheaper than UV-A bulbs (you can buy them in an ordinary shop). These machines are very cheap but at the same time the customer is limited in its use. They also use photo-sensitive parts in their materials, which only react on UV-B light. The material, which is hardened with UV-B light, is very often not very stable, weak or a little bit soft. All dentists light curing machines send out only UV-B light because it is not permitted to use the stronger UV-A light inside the mouth (the soft tissue can be harmed).
Bredent uses photo-sensitive parts which only react on UV-A light (300-400 Nanometer) in order to provide the customer with high quality, hard and firm light curing materials. The bredent light curing machine "Polylux" is provided with a high quality UV-A bulb which can harden nearly all light curing materials in the dental market, also materials which contain UV-B sensitive parts.
Machines with insufficient results in combination with bredent light curing materials are:
ESPE Beta light curing machine
Triad, Dentsply
Voco, (the blue "tunnel")
Heräus-Kulzer (only the little one for tray material)
RSB
Machines with sufficient results are:
Bredent "Polylux" - light curing machine
ESPE Alpha - light curing machine (very small)
Heräus-Kulzer XS - light curing machine
Schütz - light curing machine
Ivoclar - light curing machine

Light-curing Die Spacer (Transparent)
The disposable brush allows precise application. The layer thickness can be varied by applying the material several times.
The varnishes are translucent. If they are applied several times, the color becomes more intense so that the layer thickness can be gauged.
The light curing die varnishes produce a particularly hard surface which protects the die against damage when fitting onto the crowns.
To produce a cement gap the varnish must be cured immediately after applying. For hardening of preparation margins: allow die to soak into the plaster, then polymerize. The varnish hardens the surface without layering.
Light-curing Die Spacer (Opaque)
Light-curing die varnish is available in three different opaque colors. The fine masking capacity allows to obtain a uniform color of the varnish layer.
During the application the die varnish diffuses into the plaster surface. Depth polymerization leads to abrasion resistant bonding to the die. Light curing die varnish resists high mechanical stress. Even steam blasting the units does not affect the strong bonding.
Microceramic
In the field of crowns and bridges, Microceramic is especially suitable for non-precious alloys since very cast surfaces are obtained. The Microceramic is adapted to the expansion of the investment material.
The difference after sandblasting with glass beads can be clearly recognized: The entire oxide layer can be easily removed so that less working time is required.
An extended processing time span allows precise application of the Microceramic. Microscopically fine ceramic particles ensure perfect reproduction of very fine details of wax models.
Devesting is simplified since there is no bonding between the investment material and Microceramic.
Microceramic avoids extreme formation of oxide on non-precious metal alloys. Cast objects are only sandblasted with 50 micron glass beads to obtain almost perfect high luster. Consequently, time for further processing is saved.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE MICROCERAMIC
Before using this product, please read and follow these instructions carefully.
1. Indication Range:
Microceramic is used for non-precious metal alloys in the field of crowns and bridges as well as for CoCr denturework to reduce the oxide layer and to obtain a fine metal surface.
2. Processing
Loosen the Microceramic by slightly pressing the bottle and then shaking it vigorously until a uniform consistency is obtained and the ball moves in the bottle. If required, dilute with distilled water to obtain a creamy consistency.
Use a brush to apply a thin layer of Microceramic onto the wax pattern; ensure that the pattern is completely covered with Microceramic. It is important to avoid the formation of puddles on occlusal surfaces and in the area of the palate. Invest immediately after the Microceramic material has been applied.
After casting, devest the object as usual. Sandblast the Microceramic and adhering oxides using fine or medium coarse abrasive material (110 mµ). Any material for polish blasting can be used for crowns and bridges.
3. Safety Recommendations and Hazard Warnings
" Do not inhale Microceramic dust. The dust contains quartz. In case of repeated exposure, the risk of silicosis exists.
" Microceramic dust should only be removed from the working place with a moist cloth.
" To avoid the formation of dust when deflasking, place the flask into water for a short time after it has cooled down.

Ropak Light Curing Pink Opaquer
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE ROPAK - UV
Before using this product, please read and follow these instructions carefully.
1. Indication Range:
Ropak UV is a light curing resin-colored opaque to cover CoCr objects that are to be veneered with
cold-polymerizing, pink resin. Due to its special color, Ropak UV ensures perfect covering of all metal
parts.
2. Processing
2.1 Preparation of the object
Blast the metal frame using aluminum oxide or corundum. After blasting, the metal surface must be dust- and
fat-free.
2.2 Mixing
Mix Ropak UV powder and liquid to obtain a liquid consistency.
Please note: Do not mix Ropak UV so that the consistency is too thick since this will result in incomplete
curing.
2.3 Applying
Apply Ropak UV in a very thin, covering layer using a disposable brush. Then polymerize in the light-curing
unit as described under item 2.4.
2.4 Polymerization times in the light curing unit
Denta-Color XS 90 sec.
Schütz PLC 5000 5 min.
Bredent PolyLux 5 min.
Please note: The object should always be placed as close as possible to the light source. The luminous
intensity, and thus the effect, decreases considerably if the distance to the light source increases, so
that insufficient polymerization may result. Shade spots must be avoided.
3. Sources of Errors
3.1 Formation of "clouds" and discoloration in the resin.
Error: Ropak UV has not been cured long enough in the light curing unit.
The layer of Ropak UV that has been applied is too thick.
The material has been cured in an unsuitable light-curing unit.
3.2 Despite sufficiently long curing times, Ropak UV still exhibits greasiness on
the surface
Error: The layer of Ropak UV is too thick.
Solution: Remove Ropak UV by sandblasting the frame (object), mix it to obtain a thinner consistency and
apply anew.
4. Safety Recommendations and Hazard Warnings
4.1 Protective clothing: while working with Ropak UV, protective clothing must be worn.
4.2 For safe handling of Ropak UV, please refer to the material safety data sheet.
4.3 In case of contact with the skin, mucous membranes or eyes, rinse off with water immediately.
5. Storage and Durability
5.1 Ropak UV powder must be stored under dry conditions at room temperature. Ropak UV liquid must be sealed
immediately after taking a certain quantity out of the container.
5.2 Proper disposal: Please adhere to the information on the product provided in the material safety data
sheet.

INFORMATION REGARDING THE LIGHT STRENGTH OF THE DENTAL LIGHT CURING MACHINES
The wattage of the light bulb has no influence on the light curing process.
What is important is the wave-length of the radiation. In the dental market there are two different light
types in use:
1) UV-A waves
2) UV-B waves
Some manufacturers of light curing tray materials use light bulbs which only send out UV-B waves. The reason
is simple: the UV-B bulbs are cheaper than UV-A bulbs (you can buy them in an ordinary shop). These machines
are very cheap but at the same time the customer is limited in its use. They also use photo-sensitive parts
in their materials, which only react on UV-B light. The material, which is hardened with UV-B light, is very
often not very stable, weak or a little bit soft. All dentists light curing machines send out only UV-B
light because it is not permitted to use the stronger UV-A light inside the mouth (the soft tissue can be
harmed).
Machines with insufficient results in combination with bredent light curing
materials are:
ESPE Beta light curing machine
Triad, Dentsply
Voco, (the blue "tunnel")
Heräus-Kulzer (only the little one for tray material)
RSB
Machines with sufficient results are:
Bredent "Polylux" - light curing machine
ESPE Alpha - light curing machine (very small)
Heräus-Kulzer XS - light curing machine
Schütz - light curing machine
Ivoclar - light curing machine

Seracoll UV Light-Curing Wax Adhesive
Seracoll UV Light-Curing Wax Adhesive
Seracoll UV is a new light curing wax adhesive liquid from Bredent that is designed for use in creating stress-free connections in C&B and implant bar wax-ups. It is also suitable for fabricating wax-ups for the copy milling technique. Seracoll UV is totally homogenous with waxes and cures in any light curing unit with a UV or LED wavelength range of 270 – 580 nanometers in approximately 10 seconds; and, it burns – out clean and residue-free. This light curing liquid adhesive for waxes is highly accurate and saves time compared to using pattern resins for similar applications.
- Low viscosity
- Versatile
- Clean burning
- Convenient packaging prevents spillage during use
- Light curing, cures in all dental units
- Highly accurate and stable
- Saves time
CompoForm UV
CompoForm UV can be used in conjuction with modelling wax and is perfectly suitable for interlocking the model prior to investing. This way investing without any deformation is possible.
Modelling and further processing of telescopic and conical crowns can be perfectly controlled by means of a visual check of the layer. The high stability of the hardened composite allows reworking with a bur.
Thanks to low shrinkage and burning without any residue, the composite is ideal for fixation of bridges to be soldered.
Model cast extensions can be fabricated in a simple and time-saving manner. compoForm UV can be easily removed from the plaster.
Undercuts on dies can be quickly and completely blocked out.
Burning without any residue and reduced swelling behavior provide perfect preconditions for top-quality casting results.
